One of the design sites on Myspace asked me to partner up with them. I said yes I like new challenges and doing nice things for people that deserve them. And I also got amazing scrap kits for free from Juicy Scrap and Scrappy Bit Of Fun. I want to say thank you to Arianne for telling me not to give up on my work. I always makes stuff have have her tell me what she thinks and she is so honest that it makes me feel better about the work I have been doing.
Oh and a side note: Congratulations to Kate and her family, they are expecting another bundle of joy!

My Sister's Keeper
I haven't written in awhile and figured I should up date people along with a quick book review about one of the books I read that just made me think.
Ski is currently trying to get into ROTC at UCCS. He also is trying to get into a government summer program for 2010. I can't say what government agency or they will null and void his application. I am trying to figure out a good school that will actually have everything put together and actually talk with each other so I don't run around trying to get it all situated. That's mainly it.
So this book is called My Sister's Keeper, I first heard about it while sitting in the theatre waiting for X-Men Origins Wolverine to start. The book as been turned into a movie so I took the advantage of reading it before I saw the movie. I believe books are always better then the movie just because there are tons details and 500 pages to lay it all out. Whereas a movie you have only 2 1/2 hours to play with.
Anyway. The book takes place on the East coast. The main point of the book is to tell the story of a 13 year old girl Anna who sues her parents for medical emancipation from them, because she doesn't want to donate to her sister Kate who has APL ( Acute Promyelocytic Leukema) in simple words cancer of the blood. Sara and Brian their parents decided to have "designer baby" to match Kate's bone marrow needs. So the conceive Anna and over the course of 13 years Anna has been poked and prodded and she finally has enough. Their parents don't realize that they are loosing their Son Jesse who is 18 living about their garage. Jesse has become an arsonist, druggie and drinks beer most of the day. Jesse is the only one who agrees with Anna to sue her parents. The book goes through the days leading up to the trial and the past. At the end the court finds out that Anna sued her parents because Kate asked her to. Kate got so tired of doing the same thing for 16years she just wanted it to end. The courts find in favor of Anna and emancipate her and give Power of Attorney to her Lawyer Campbell Alexander so if she is not able to make a medical decision he can for her.
As I was reading this book I couldn't believe how cold hearted the mom was in the book. She mainly had Anna to save Kate. The book was in 7 peoples perspective. There was Anna's, Campbell's, Sara, Brian, Julia, Jesse, and finally Kate. The book flowed flawlessly in each persons perspective to keep the book moving forward. It was a tear jerker that I fell in love with. I would suggest reading the book before you see the movie that comes out on June 26th.
